This is the precious 1:1 scale reproduction of the first Latin herbarium published in Veneto Region in 1491. It is a compilation of treatments based entirely on herbs, which finds its roots in the writings of classical Arabic and Persian authors. The book is presented as a compendium of medical and pharmaceutical knowledge of the classical and medieval tradition, based on the use of medicinal plants. The exceptional quality and style of woodcuts is completely innovative compared to the editions of the time. Two volumes with box, 750 numbered copies. The accompanying volume contains an introduction by Giovan Battista Gasparini. A glossary and a paleographic index guide help reading the Latin text.
